Championship side Sheffield United have reportedly set their sights on signing two Liverpool youngsters.
The in-form Blades are pursuing a return to the Premier League.
They currently sit second in the Championship table and are already making transfer plans that should help them when they return to the top flight.
Sheffield United were related from the Premier League in the 2020/21 season, after finishing in 20th place.
But they look set to return to the top flight, with Chris Wilder, the manager who secured their last promotion to the Premier League, overseeing an upturn in form at Bramall Lane.
Wilder helped Sheffield to a ninth-place finish in his first season in the Premier League, and he will be desperate for such a run should they return.
The Blades are already planning to strengthen in the summer, and it involves two Liverpool youngsters.
Liverpool duo wanted by Sheffield United
According to Sports Mail, Sheffield United are showing interest in Liverpool youngsters Lewis Koumas and Owen Beck.
The Liverpool academy stars are presently on loan in the Championship, and Sheffield United have put them on a long list of targets for the summer should they win promotion back to the Premier League.
“Championship high-flyers Sheffield United are showing interest in two of Liverpool’s young talent out on loan,” the report said.
“Owen Beck and Lewis Koumas are thriving at Blackburn and Stoke, respectively, and the Blades have put them on a long list of targets for the summer should they win promotion back to the Premier League.
“Chris Wilder’s long-term right-hand man Alan Knill knows the pair well after working with them for Wales, where he has served as an assistant to Rob Page.
“Koumas, son of former footballer Jason, has scored three goals and notched two assists for the Potters, while Ian Rush’s great-nephew Beck is a regular for play-off chasing Rovers.
The report added, “United’s pursuit probably depends on promotion, but the pair are both playing well and will have more interest come the summer.”

Meanwhile, Lewis Koumas has also enjoyed a productive spell in the Championship, making 29 appearances for Stoke City, while scoring three goals and registering two assists.
